Gethyn signed for the club in May 2020 from Merthyr Town. He is a product of the Cardiff City Academy and has also played twice for Wales Under 19’s, scoring one goal. In the summer of 2016 following his departure from Cardiff the year before, he joined Cinderford Town where his form attracted interest, leading to him joining National League South Weston-super-Mare in December of that year. At the start of the 2017-18 campaign he spent a month on loan at Hereford before returning to Weston and going on to become the Seagulls’ top scorer for the season with 19 goals. After a further season in Somerset he joined Merthyr Town for the 2019-20 season before arriving at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium the following year where his strength, pace and aerial prowess have been a threat to the opposition. Unfortunately Gethyn suffered a nasty head injury against Kings Langley in January 2022 and is currently out of action.
