The Peacocks gained revenge for their recent League defeat at Badgers Hill and in doing so reached the final of the Somerset Premier Cup.
Taunton had a few early chances, notably a shot by Craig Veal which was blocked by a defender but it was the hosts who went in front after 21 minutes when a Ryan Bath pass found Johnny Gorman whose shot took a wicked deflection off Josh Nelmes.
Taunton’s best chance of the half came just before the goal when Matt Buse has a shot blocked by a defender.
In the second half it always looked likely that Taunton would score an equaliser and it duly arrived after 62 minutes with a powerfully hit shot by Lewis Hall. Frome had the chance to restore their read from the penalty spot after 68 mins but Cameron Allen’s kick went wide.
The winning goal came after 81 minutes when Matt Buse’s cross was superbly headed home by Matt Wright, who unbelievably scored his first goal since Boxing Day.
Frome’s best chance to save the game came on 86 minutes when Joe O’Loughlin’s shot was saved by captain for the night Lloyd Irish but the Peacocks held on comfortably to reach another Somerset Premier Cup final with Weston super Mare as the opponents.
